Rather than relying on old email attachments or trying to remember which drawing was issued most recently, your Dedicated Project Space brings the key information about your project together in one place.
You can see where your project currently sits, what has already happened and what the next steps are likely to be.

There is no additional account to create or password to remember. Your project is accessed through a private link provided by Downland Studio.
Keeping track of drawing revisions
Residential designs naturally develop.
A layout discussed at the beginning of a project may change following client feedback, design development, planning considerations or technical coordination.
That can leave several versions of what appears to be the same drawing.
Keeping a clear distinction between current and superseded drawings is therefore important.
Within your Dedicated Project Space, current drawings and documents are organised by the relevant part of the project, while previous revisions can be retained separately as superseded information.
This provides a record of how the design has developed without leaving you wondering which drawing represents the latest proposal.

From design and planning to technical information
The information needed for a residential project changes as it progresses.
During the early stages, the focus may be on existing information, measured survey drawings and developing the design.
When a proposal is ready, the project may progress into Planning Permission or a Lawful Development Certificate where appropriate.
Following planning, many projects then require more detailed Building Regulations drawings and technical information.
Structural information, Building Control documents, water authority matters and other project-specific requirements may also become relevant.
The Dedicated Project Space provides somewhere for these different pieces of information to sit within the context of the overall project rather than becoming a collection of unrelated email attachments.
Knowing where your project has reached
Waiting can be one of the more frustrating parts of a residential project.

I've always wanted Downland Studio's pricing to be straightforward.
The same principle continues once a project starts.
Your Dedicated Project Space provides an overview of your agreed professional fees together with invoices, payments and additional project expenses where applicable.
This means you can see what has been agreed, what has been invoiced, what has been paid and what remains as the project progresses.
Invoices and supporting information can also be kept alongside the project rather than disappearing into an old email thread.

What about structural engineers and other consultants?
Some projects require input from other professionals or third parties.
This might include a structural engineer, Building Control, a water authority or other specialist input depending on the work proposed.
These requirements don't always happen at the same time.
Your Dedicated Project Space can show which additional requirements apply to your project and their current status, helping to provide a clearer picture of what information has been received and what may still be outstanding.
Where additional coordination or assistance is required, Downland Studio also provides Project Support throughout the design, planning and pre-construction stages.
A visual record of the project
Projects aren't just drawings and documents.
Existing photographs, survey information, design development, 3D visualisations and eventually photographs from construction can all form part of the story.
The project gallery provides somewhere to organise this visual information throughout the life of the project.
For longer projects in particular, this creates a useful record of how the property and design have developed over time.

Residential design can sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to.
There are different stages, unfamiliar terminology, approvals, drawings and several people who may become involved before anything is actually built.
Downland Studio was created around a more approachable, practical and transparent way of working.
